Stayed at this hotel(?) several weeks ago. As a one-time hotel insider, I know more about what to look for in hotels than most people and what I saw here was disturbing. A renovated post office, it has plainly seen better days. Upon entering, we found the restroom small, uninviting and dirty. Hair on the floor and in the tub, the carpets were old and worn and very limited closet space. The front desk personnel were rude, untrained and inept at their job.
The check-in experience was abysmal. We asked to see the manager, was informed they were not available, but would contact us. Needless to say, we were never contacted. The condition of the hotel restaurant, including the out-dated silverware and the general lack of cleanliness sent us looking elsewhere for a place to dine.
I could go on, but suffice it to say, this was one of the worst experiences we have ever had in this flea-bag of a hotel. Next time, we will stay at the far superior Hay-Adams hotel, where we usually stay. Poor, poor, poor….
