I would give it a negative rating if I could. Staff very friendly, issue is not empowered to deal with problems that may occur onsite with check-in and did not provide information in advance regarding need for a deposit, for incidentals, which I haven’t paid in decades as most other hotels do not require this. The booking was paid for through a third-party who was unable to contact the hotel for a refund or partial return of the amount already paid so on a cold, rainy night,
I found myself out in the cold with no place to stay for the evening as I was passing through town. Had I been informed prior to checking in of the additional fee requirement, I would have made other arrangements or changed my travel. Either way, not a complaint about the staff or check-in clerk or even forfeiting the room fee for the night but the lack of proper upfront disclosure and inflexible policy of the company.
Will NEVER book a reservation with any Red Lion property and will loudly discourage anyone I know from doing the same. And I give this rating a negative 5!
