I’m just looking for a therapist to deal with a stressful time in my life. I don’t usually leave negative feedback, and wish I could add to the positive feedback for this therapist, but cannot. I left 3 voicemails over about a one-week period, and did not get any response. This is apparently accepted business practice for psychologists in the DC area.
I have encountered this same lack of response from several offices now…. but seems very unprofessional to not return calls when a person makes the difficult step to reach out seeking help. At least return the call to make sure the person is ok, make a referral elsewhere, or do something to acknowledge them. Shame. What if someone reaching out was really in trouble?
